About

Because we know how important it is to feel that you are leaving your children with someone you can trust, all of our sitters go through the same screening process as our nannies. If you would like to see the same sitter more than once, we are happy to help establish an ongoing relationship. 

Booking a sitter is easy! Just contact us at least 24 hours before the date needed. We also ask that you give us 24 hours notice for cancelling. As a courtesy to our sitters, any cancellation less than 24 hours beforehand will be charged the full amount of the services requested.  

To get started, a $30 one-time booking fee is paid to the agency by credit card. For every additional day of babysitting needed, a $20 booking fee plus $10 per additional day (when booking multiple days at once) will be charged to the credit card on file. Each babysitting session will be paid in cash with a guaranteed 4-hour minimum. If the sitter needs to travel more than 30 minutes to your house, we also ask that they be compensated for that time. For holidays, or less than 24 hours in advance booking, we charge a $40 booking fee and our sitter's rates start at $20/hr for one child (and increase by $2 per child per hour from there).

How it works

  1. Once we receive your booking application, we will send you a copy of our Babysitting terms to sign, and instructions on using our Family Portal. You can apply here.

  2. Get booking! You can input the dates/times you need in your booking calendar within your family profile. As soon as you input your needs, those requests go out to our Nannies/Sitters!

  3. Our available Sitters notify us if they are interested, and we assign the best match to your booking!

  4. Once we have assigned a Sitter, you will then receive an email with a link to their profile. Of course, if you are unhappy with the sitter assigned, we can request someone else!

  5. The Sitter is sent your family's details, and should text you to reconfirm themselves sometime before the job. We can coordinate for you to connect with the sitter beforehand, but we don't do interviews for our babysitting jobs.

  6. The Sitter comes on the assigned date, and you will pay them directly at the end of the job. (please see babysitting terms for rates). You can do so via Venmo, Zelle, or cash! We will then charge your card on file for our booking fee!

1 child - $18/hr
2 children - $20/hr
3 children - $22/hr
4 children - $25/hr
More than 4 children will require two babysitters at a negotiated rate.

1 child - $22/hr
2 children - $25/hr
3 children - $27/hr
4 children - $30/hr
More than 4 children will require two babysitters at a negotiated rate.

For bookings outside of the Reno/Sparks area, if a Sitter is commuting to you, we ask that you offer a tip as gas mileage reimbursement (we suggest paying for the travel time).

 

Family Rules


- We require at least 24 hours notice in advance for cancellations. Our sitters commit their time and often turn down other opportunities when booked for a shift. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance we will charge your card on file for a 4 hour booking. This is paid out to the Sitter once we receive the payment. We won't however charge you our booking fee for the booking.

- Our Sitters are awesome, we know! Please don't try to book our sitters without our knowledge. We spend a lot of time, money, and energy, recruiting and screening our caregivers! If you would like to request a sitter directly, you can add them to your "Favorites" List or put their name in the notes when you book next. We will always ask them first!

- Please don't ask our Sitters if they are interested in working with your family or refer them to your friends/family. If you are interested in working with them on a permanent basis let us set up a formal interview! We appreciate referrals, so please send your friends/family our way!

- We expect our sitters to leave your home looking better or at least the same as they arrived. You should expect your sitter to help with any child-related tasks (dishes, kids laundry, and toys put away). Please do not ask them to help with any deep cleaning or organizational tasks unless agreed upon beforehand.

- Please be respectful of their time. If you are running late, please let them know as soon as possible.

- If you are unhappy with your Sitter or the services they provided for any reason, please let us know! We will always do what we can to make it right!

 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We will always do everything in our power to find a replacement and are usually able to with 24-48 hours notice. If it is a last minute cancellation, we will credit your family for a booking and we won't charge you for the cancelled booking.

  • Please text us at 775-386-2297! We will try to get ahold of the Sitter and figure out the issue. If they are flaking, we will credit your family for the booking, and that Sitter will be removed from our roster. We take cancellations and absences seriously here at Pb+J! We make sure all of our caregivers are aware of the large inconvenience these actions can have on a family, and we have been able to prevent things like this for the most part!

  • Tips are appreciated but not required or expected! A fair tip is usually paying for an additional hour or two (or whatever feels fair to you!)

  • You pay the Sitter at the end of the shift. You can ask them what they prefer, but most are happy with Venmo, Zelle, or cash.

  • Not typically. If there is enough notice we can arrange for you to connect with them over the phone. If you would prefer to meet them in person first, and they have the availability to accomodate that request, we are happy to arrange that for you. However we would ask that the Sitter is compensated for their time.

  • Just let us know! You can email us at info@pbjnanny.com and we will find someone else! We always try to assign the Sitter we feel is the most qualified for your booking.
